This project is managed by Mark Fuerst and Joan Rubel. Both of them work closely with the Integrated Media Association (IMA)–but this is not an IMA Project. Instead the project is managed by Public Media Management, Mark’s consulting company.

Mark is a co-founder of IMA, which has become the most influential new media advisory group in public broadcasting, with membership and support from networks and stations in both radio and TV. Joan is the current “Transition Manager,” (that is, acting director) of IMA.

Mark has first-hand experience with developing service innovations: he played a major role in developing the AAA music format at WXPN and served as executive producer of The World Cafe for eight years. He managed a number of service development projects for the CPB Future Fund including the Leaders’ Partnership (major gifts),Brilliant on the Basics (core membership practices), New Basics (email marketing) and the M*STAR Project which led directly to the development of FolkAlley.com.

Joan Rubel has a long and successful track record as a public radio General Manager (of WORT, Madison and WFCR Amherst) and six years experience on the NPR Board of Directors. She oversaw grants and planning for a large human service organization and currently, works with non-profit organizations on strategic issues and organizational development. Joan is also serving as Transition Manager for the Integrated Media Association.
